This 3D Printed project was trickier than it looked… here’s why 👇
Our client needed 3D Printed ski bindings, but not just any design. These had to be:
✅ Visually realistic but not direct copies (to avoid copyright issues)
✅ Clean, crisp white with no visible seams
✅ Lightweight and easy to print with minimal support
✅ Subtle enough to let the skis (the real stars of the POS display) shine
We partnered closely with their designers to develop a solution that was cost-effective, scalable, and ready for batch production, with hundreds of pairs needed in a tight timeframe.
To achieve this, 3D Printing LEEDS:
- Prototyped multiple versions for client approval
- Developed a custom jig for accurate final assembly
- Optimised print settings to reduce visible layer lines
The result? A sleek, realistic prop that looked the part without stealing the spotlight from the skis themselves. 🎯
